Jewellery Sizes
When purchasing a gemstone then the price is generally based on the size and quality of the stone itself. This is the case for most stones such as diamonds, emeralds, ruby's etc. On many occasions the size of the stone will also determine which type of cut is used to gain the best finished product for the stone in question.
It is also important that when you purchase a gemstone that the jewellery is in proportion to the finger, which it is to be worn on. In many instances people purchase the largest stone they can afford and find that they don't like the size of the end product when it's put on the end of their finger.
Ring sizes generally fall into four different categories. G to K being for small and children, L to P is considered for average ladies, Q to U is for large ladies and men and V to Z is considered to be for extra large men and thumbs. There are many guides online which can help you measure your own ring size but if you are interested in purchasing jewellery then any store will happily measure your ring size for you.
